Hitting the Reset Buton

There are times in life and in my training plans where no matter how hard I try, life always seems to step in and take me from the direction I want to be heading.  You would think that I would learn from this and learn to stop fighting the tide but this week was proof that I have in fact not!  I was thinking that school vacation week would equal lots of miles logged and a perfect Best Body Bootcamp week since I had more than enough time to get workouts in.  Yeah not so much!  I got them in but in pieces and each workout made me feel more and more frustrated.  I would wake up early in order to get a long run in mid week and then the baby would wake up only to be joined by her big sister.  I would be finally starting to sweat and I would see Em scooting around the corner yelling above my music "Can I get on the treadmill?"  This week just left this running mama frustrated and thus there were days where my family, namely my hubby (sorry babe) would pay the price.
That would explain a lot then!

Do you have times like this?  Where everything is perfectly planned but never seems to go quite right?  Where the walls seem to close in and you want to run (literally) out the door until you don't feel like ripping your hair out?  Well I have learned that this week is what it is and I do love my family...so there is always next week...always another week to get it right...

So today I'm hitting the reset button...a redo of this week knowing that I tried my best but that a great workout is just around the corner!!

  2. What a great way to acknowledge the day/week/moment just isn't what you'd hope and move on - instead of remunerating over it. I love this :)

  3. I think everyday I have a plan and that plan changes so much! I think you did great at adapting to it and sometimes a little reset is all we need!

  4. I had a similar week except my nemesis was from a cold. I just didn't feel good and nothing seemed to go my way. I'm firmly pressing the reset button for this week too!

  6. I don't think I have ever been able to follow a training plan 100%. I kind of gave up on it and just do what I can. It is very hard to balance a full-time job and a family. Sometimes I get stressed trying to balance it all so I just do what I can and hope for a better week. You have your hands full so be proud of what you are able to do!

  7. I hate weeks like that, I do the best I can to take them in stride but it is so hard sometimes. Although I do feel like someone hit a reset button for me last week. Hope this week goes better for you!

  8. I have weeks like this all of the time! This past week was a bust. I had so many things planned for the vacation week but hardly any of it happened!!! Totally normal, I think. Sometimes we just need to say it was an off week and move on. :)

  11. I know how you feel! I sometimes don't have time to run and then I eat worse and I start feeling guilt and shame and that leads to feeling angry and then I don't want to hang out with friends but I don't run...and it just perpetuates itself! RESET! I hope you are feeling better today!
